Getting started

Using NILDE, both as librarians and users, is easy!

Are you a librarian?

Any library of a public or a private institution, as long as no profit, can join the NILDE network.

First, you need to register your library, starting here. With the registration, libraries commit to respect NILDE's Rules and Regulation. The Administrator will accept the registration request and send the library an e-mail with the abilitation to the service. Then you can start using NILDE, following the instructions in the librarian manual.

NILDE is a service supplied by CNR and its management, maintenance and software development costs are supported by all the libraries in the network. Registration is free for the first year, then subscription cost depends on institution type. For more information visit Subscriptions.

Are you a user? A researcher, a teacher, a student, a freelance professional or a citizen?

In order to request any document you need, for example a scientific publication, an article or a book chapter, you need to be registered in one of the libraries in the network.

If you are a student or an employee in a university or a public institution, search the library for your institution and register to NILDE. Or look for the nearest public library, using the filter "province" and "institution type = other public institution", and register to it. The library will have to accept the registration request and send you an e-mail with the abilitation to the service. Then you will be able to start using NILDE, following the instructions in the user manual.
