Libraries are committed to reciprocity and to a free-of-charge service, as stated in the Nilde regulation. As far as possible, it is advisable to send documents free of charge.
Possible compensations can be requested in case of a strong imbalance between libraries at the end of the year.
To guarantee the proper functioning of the Network, it is essential to update own library catalogues and contact details, to be sure that anyone can contact you without delay.
Therefore, it is important to update library details (information regarding the library, its name, phone and email, the name of the responsible of the service...).
How to do it? It is very simple! After you log in, click on the arrow on the left of “Welcome Library”, located at the top of the screen. Hence, three boxes appear:

When the library needs to suspend Nilde service, even for few days, it is important to clearly state “Service suspension” using the proper function in the section “My Service”, which is located in our library panel: “Welcome Library and modify data”.
During the period of suspension, you will not receive any lending requests and requesting libraries will see the suspension period and avoid forwarding requests that could not be processed.
Document delivery time is very important for our users. Therefore, requests should be completed as soon as possible, and, in any case, within 3 working days.
In case of any difficulty that can delay or prevent to supply the requested document, it is necessary to communicate it immediately to the requesting library, which can decide either to wait or to send its request to another library. To communicate more helps librarians and customers not to waste time.
Di seguito alcuni trucchi del mestiere basati sulla pratica e sul buon senso:
1. Nell’individuare una biblioteca fornitrice, soprattutto nel caso di richieste urgenti, controlliamo anche l’orario del servizio DD e il numero addetti: se una biblioteca chiude alle 14 ed ha 1 addetto solo, anche se è in cima al ranking, è inutile inviarle la richiesta alle 15 perché nessuno vi invierà l’articolo fino al giorno dopo.
Per quanto riguarda i periodici elettronici acquisiti in modo consortile, è buona prassi rivolgersi a biblioteche della medesima area disciplinare del periodico.
Come scegliere la Biblioteca a cui inoltrare la nostra richiesta? NILDE suggerisce la biblioteca del network alla quale è più opportuno inoltrare la richiesta.
Inoltrare richieste DD con dati bibliografici corretti e completi aiuterà la biblioteca fornitrice a evaderle più rapidamente.
Reciprocità e gratuità sono tra gli impegni fondamentali nei confronti delle biblioteche, come indicato nel Regolamento NILDE. si raccomanda l'impegno ad inviare gratuitamente i documenti, nei limiti del possibile.
Eventuali rimborsi possono essere richiesti a fronte di forte squilibrio di scambio tra le biblioteche, rilevabile a fine anno.
Quando la biblioteca deve interrompere il servizio NILDE, anche per pochi giorni, è importante impostare la Sospensione del servizio tramite Il mio servizio, all'interno della nostra anagrafica: Benvenuto Biblioteca e modifica dati.
Nei giorni impostati non riceverete richieste di lending e le biblioteche visualizzeranno il periodo di interruzione evitando di inoltrarvi richieste che non potrebbero essere evase.
